CESA is a non-profit, scientific consortium, independent research Centre, Museum and Library, established by Prof Dr Ahmet Ömer Koçak, announced on 1st October, 1988, with the aim of organizing and  realizing  the  international  researches  regarding the taxonomy, nomenclature, morphology, ecology, biodiversity, conservation, bibliography, checklists, catalogues of the Insecta, especially Lepidoptera of theWorld, as  well  as  the  publications on the regional faunas. The date of the first issue of the serial Priamus was 1981, which is today an organ of the Cesa.  The earliest date of the scientific activities, realized by Prof. Koçak was in 1966, and  the first  date of the preparation of the card system of the Cesa in 1968. Therefore, the date 1966  may be considered  as the date  of  foundation  of  the Cesa. Faunal activities of the Cesa between 1966-2019 in the Old World:  Turkey, Balkan States,  Spain, Iran,  Kazachstan,  Kirgizistan, Uighur Ili, Pakistan,  Philippine Islands, Ethiopia, South Africa, and Thailand. Among the foreign institutions and the Cesa, scientific collaborations had been established in the past. Within this frame, scientific publications have been exchanged especially in the period of  1981-2013. Between these dates especially printed issues of Priamus and Miscellaneous Papers have been exchanged (see below).

Currently, all the scientific serials published online as pdf format, in accordance with the publication rules online of the ICZN.

Place of the online Cesa publications: After registering to the Zoobank, the MS is submitted as pdf file to the Internet Archive as required (California, USA). In the internet archive,  the submitted MS is examined and prepared in a publication format. After this procedure, the MS becomes a valid publication in accordance with the Rules of ICZN. In conclusion, the manuscript of the Cesa becomes valid publication in the Internet Archive (California). Thus, the place of the Cesa online publications is California, USA, not Turkey.

PRIAMUS    - ISSN 1015-8243. This serial was established in 1981, printed on paper until the number 12 (6) [19.3.2010].  From the number 13 (1) [5.12.2015] on, it was published online as pdf format.

Before 2013, the institutional partners of the Cesa within the frame of the scientific collaborations are listed below. Printed issues of Priamus and Miscellaneous Papers have been sent until 2010 and 2013, respectively; therefore printed copies may be obtained from there.

Other serials of the Cesa are: Priamus Supplement (established on 2006 as online, active), Memoirs established on 1991, currently active as online. Cesa News, established as online on 2008. Totally 160 numbers were published. Cesa Publications on African Lepidoptera has been established in 2007. Upto the end of 2009 online issues (nr.1-24) have been placed under the server of Metafro (Belgium). The site Metafro is currently unavailable for this purpose. The contents of  the nr. 1-24 have been revised and published online as nr. 25, which is freely downloadable from Internet Archive (California, U.S.A.). 

Currently, more than 350 partners (incl. most of the institutions listed below, and also new institutions) are informed about the online publications, whenever published.
